This post reminded me that I must not fall prey to fear, but we must all be bolstered in the faith that moments like these must come to pass as we await the return of Christ. As a person of faith, I must live as Christ would desire us all to live... that is with love for all humankind. Therefore, the overflow of seditious hate that comes from our President's twitter fingers must be balanced with an outpouring of love from true believers... yes, even love for those who would persecute us. And trust me, as an African-American male, loving is a daunting task with such vile indignant untruths spewing from the mouth of one elected as the leader of the free world. And let me not rant on freedoms... when Libyan governments call African Slave Trading "fake news" following the lead of our president. (I'm sorry I went on a rant.) The bottoom line is that your post reminded me, especially during this season of Advent, that our hope, joy, and peace is not given to us by mankind, but through the sacrificial love of Jesus. And I have no need to fear because He is with me, his rod and staff comforts me. Thank you and may God bless you and keep you. Your words moved me and I began writing a message to my girls about my reaction to the election (though I'm sure they knew my reaction) and intended to include your beautiful words. I've not yet been able to finish that message to my girls. I'm still so saddened by the election that I become discouraged in writing out my thoughts and so I let it go for another day. I'm grateful you had the capacity to remind us all that while life has changed with this election we must continue to love and care for one another in every way possible.Merrilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09891901749148231946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163229935991757598.post-33010811063102363792016-11-10T09:13:57.946-06:002016-11-10T09:13:57.946-06:00Amen.
